Business Ethics
Flexible Packing Services are committed to compliance with the UK Bribery Act legislation. It is illegal to offer, promise, give, request, agree, receive, or accept bribes in business.
The company will not:
• Make contributions of any kind with the purpose of gaining any commercial advantage.
• Provide gifts or hospitality with the intention of persuading anyone to act improperly, or to influence a public official in the performance of their duties.
• Coerce employees to violate business ethics laws
NOTE - This policy does not prohibit giving and receiving promotional gifts of low value, low value seasonal gifts or normal and appropriate hospitality. Receiving & giving gifts of low value (e.g. box of chocolate / bottle of wine at Christmas) is normal and permitted under this policy. However gifts offered with a value exceeding £25 must may not be given / accepted without approval of senior management. Gifts over £25 in value are to be logged on the gift register.
The acceptance of corporate hospitality must be transparent; all invitations must be reported to the company before an employee accepts any invitation.
No donations should be made to charities, clubs, political parties or other organisations without approval from senior management.
Employees must declare any potential conflicts of interest to senior management (such as a supplier being owned by a close relative).
Anyone raising a concern about bribery will not suffer any detriment to the job as a result, even if they turn out to be mistaken.
Failing to comply with bribery laws may lead to disciplinary action in accordance with the Company’s Disciplinary Policy.
Bribery is also a criminal offence and may be referred to the police.
